Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health comes as the boxing community had expressed condolences for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
