News has broken that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.
A Significant Comeback for the Franchise
The duo will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. Speculation suggests their appearance will probably be featured in a future-set scene, as the main film series concluded with their characters living in peace.
This represents the sixth cinematic outing in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a newly published work by series creator Suzanne Collins. It serves as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed the majority of the previous films in the series.
