Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
